In the 2023/24 financial year, the payroll costs for 19 employees of the Lancashire County Council earning over £100,000 increased by £940,000 compared to the previous year, reaching £2.74 million.
This increase was due to the rise in the number of high-ranking officials from 13 to 19 individuals.
The highest salary was received by the then Chief Executive, Angie Ridgwell, whose salary increased from £227,845 in 2022/23 to £236,637 in 2023/24, before she left the position in August 2024.
Other high earners included Louise Taylor (£202,426), Jacqui Old (£200,827), and Mark Wynn (£194,006).
The council did not disclose the names or positions of 12 out of the 15 other employees earning over £100,000.
A council spokesperson stated that the salaries of senior officials reflect their responsibilities, skills, and experience, ensuring the recruitment of the best professionals for these key positions.
